” I haven’t used them a lot (just not a lot of rabbit surgeries lately), but what I have has been positive. They are easy to place and the last one was easily placed by a student.. Thanks, so far really impressed.”
Nicky P. Finch, DVM
“So far, we have only positive things to say – very easy to place and seem to make a complete seal (which I know they are supposed to do- we are just happy that it is true ©). We haven’t had a chance to really ‘stress’ them with patients on the ventilator but will do that as soon as I get a chance?

“I can’t tell you how much we love the V-Gels.
We are very pleased with the cat v-gels in our Radiation Therapy Department. We no longer have tracheitis in those patients receiving treatments on a daily basis.
Our exotics department is using the rabbit v-gels and they too love them. It’s so much better than intubating them.
Thank you so much for your help!”

“The cat v-gel has been very easy to insert every time (also students have been putting the v-gels in place under my supervision without any problems) and the cats really seem to tolerate them even when the plane of anesthesia is quite light. I have also manually ventilated one cat with V-gel (PIP 10 cmHZO) and it felt tight and gave really nice capnography. That cat went to head CT so I could also visualize from the CT images how the V-gel is on its place and there’s no air between it and the cat’s pharyngeal soft tissues.
Unfortunately we haven’t had any rabbits to anesthetize lately so we still have only one (very positive) experience of the rabbit V-gel.
So, everything is really fine with the V-gels, l just hope we could get more rabbits because I really would like to gain more experience on using V-gels with them. With cats I already feel quite confident and I would most likely use the V-gels with nearly all my cat spays and castrations (at the University we presently intubate all the cat spays because we need to teach the students how to intubate cats, castrations are usually given supplemental oxygen with mask but we have lately used V-gels with some of them with good success)!’

Our first try was a success. Everyone was extremely pleased with the v-gel’s.
Better all-around ventilation for our patients. One initial issue that we had to trouble- shoot was creating a seal but, with practice, that did improve though.
Thank you so much for introducing us to this wonderful product.
